Before we dive straight into the methodologies, let’s start with a crash course in interaction design. Last month, I put together an article on what is interaction design. Interaction design is about making a connection between a device, its interface, and the user. It facilitates the actions we want to take. Design Thinking is a design methodology that provides a solution-based approach to solving problems. It’s extremely useful in tackling complex problems that are ill-defined or unknown, by understanding the human needs involved, by re-framing the problem in human-centric ways, by creating many ideas in brainstorming sessions, and by adopting a Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test.
